The Business Innovation & Digital Transformation Division collaborates with county departments to analyze, pilot and test technology that improves the experience for citizens as well as data-driven decisions and employee engagement. We also manage relationships and work with external vendors on technology roadmaps.
Companies are able to implement digital transformation and innovation in their business for a variety of reasons. They might want to meet the ever-growing demands of their customers regarding responsiveness, personalisation, or speed. They might also wish to earn more money by selling their services and products through new channels (such as social media, e-commerce, and mobile apps). A new team of leaders could decide to change how the company operates. And the need to be innovative could be triggered by a desire to shed outdated processes, systems and technologies.
Business leaders must think through the process and share the information widely, regardless of the reason for it. They should set clear goals, develop specific and measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) that are directly in line with the strategy for transformation and report on them regularly to track progress. Inadequate or incorrect KPIs can result in delays to projects or even failure.
It’s also important to involve employees in the planning and implementation process. The change will affect all employees, so they should feel that they are a part of the solution. They should be encouraged and even fail, in order to build a culture of innovation that can lead to success.
